Industry Interns: Rolling Applications

NASA Interns: Please find deadlines below

Please read the following message before completing your North Dakota Space Grant & NASA application:

This is the North Dakota Space Grant Consortium's application form for awarding NASA Internship  and Industry Internship funding. This application will close following our application deadlines.

For prospective Industry Interns only:

The NDSGC encourages you to reach out to our team to discuss your individual situation. All students must fill out this Submittable form to be considered for internship funding. Students pursuing an industry internship do not have to complete the steps outlined below for the NASA internships (which are hosted by NASA Centers). Please contact the NDSGC team if you have any questions.

For prospective NASA interns only:

STEP ONE: You must have already filled out an application at intern.nasa.gov. (Click the link to start your application)

STEP TWO: Fill out this Submittable form. After you fill out your NASA application, complete this NDGSC application.

STEP 3: You will be able to edit this application at all times! Maintain your "top positions and centers" list to help us advocate for your top choices. Click the "edit submission" link at any time to make these updates.

_______________________________________________________________________________

After the NDSGC selects students internally (upon assessment of their NDSGC NASA Internship application), the NDSGC will reach out to each NASA center's intern office and advocate for you. This does not guarantee you an internship however, this makes your application more appealing to the center, as you would come with an existing funding source.

NASA internships sessions span 10 weeks in the summer and 16 weeks in the fall and spring. Over the summer internship session, undergraduates will receive a stipend of $7,300; graduates will receive $9,000. Over the fall and spring internship session, undergraduates will receive a stipend of $11,680; graduates will receive $14,400. All students will receive a $1,000 travel stipend for in-person appointments.

We encourage everyone to apply to up to 15 positions, or as NASA allows.

NASA selects interns on a first-come-first-serve basis, so you may be contacted by a NASA mentor without us knowing. If this happens, please keep us updated as soon as possible so we can open up your potential slot to a different ND student.

It is highly encouraged that all students apply for internships on the NASA website as soon as possible; mentors start choosing interns as soon as applications start to appear in the Gateway system.

Please Note: Depending on how your institution or NASA internship funds you, taxes may or may not be taken out of your stipend. The NDSGC cannot advise on tax-related inquires.

Please note that all NDSGC awards are made from federal grant funds and awards cannot be concurrent with other federal grant funding awards made to individuals. By applying for this funding, I certify that the activities (stipend, salary, fringe, materials, supplies, travel, etc.) supported through the NDSGC are not supported through additional federal funding during the same period of performance. Any questions regarding this requirement can be directed to the NDSGC Team.

This form will let you save your progress, leave, and return to your entries at any time.
