Welcome, North Dakota Educators!
This is the NDSGC application for Classroom Visits.
Classroom Visits are often conducted by NDSGC STEM Ambassadors. Read more about the STEM Ambassadors on the NDSGC STEM Ambassador landing page.
Please note:
- Once your request has been submitted, the NDSGC Team will contact you to discuss a classroom visit further.
- Filling out this form does not guarantee you a visit. We will do our best to align STEM Ambassador's schedule and availability. Please allow 4-6 weeks from classroom visit for scheduling.
- All STEM engagements are conducted by STEM Ambassadors, North Dakota college students. Their responsibilities are to deliver quality STEM education, not classroom management. Classroom educators are expected to be responsible for students' behavior.
Please contact the NDSGC Team with any questions or concerns about Classroom Visits.
If you would like to be part of a North Dakota Space Grant Consortium (NDSGC) and the North Dakota NASA Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (ND NASA EPSCoR) electronic mailing list, please complete this form.

By applying for this funding, I certify that the activities (stipend, salary, fringe, materials, supplies, travel, etc.) supported through the NDSGC are not supported through additional federal funding during the same period of performance. Please read the following message before completing your research funding request:
This is the North Dakota Space Grant Consortium's application form for requesting funds to conduct independent research. All funds are distributed on a competitive basis and released depending on the current fiscal year's budget.
Mini-grants are available for undergraduate and graduate students who are completing STEM- or NASA-relevant research that directly affects their thesis or dissertation and are enrolled in a NDSGC affiliate school. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or above and be U.S. Citizens. Mini-grants will be awarded each semester and may include materials funding. All funds will be distributed on a competitive basis and released depending on the current fiscal year's budget. The maximum award for each individual is $2,500. Students requiring only travel expenses are encouraged to consider the NDSGC Travel Grants. Students who have already completed research through the NDSGC (having earned a fellowship, mini-grant, or internship) are eligible to apply for the NDSGC to cover publication fees under this program.
Students: In the form, you will need to request a "statement of support" from your faculty advisor/mentor. This is NOT a letter of recommendation, but instead, a 1-2 sentence endorsement letting us know your advisor is aware and supports your requests. Please give your advisor advance notice. Please contact us if you have any questions about this.

To promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) across North Dakota, the North Dakota Space Grant Consortium (NDSGC) established the STEM Ambassador program. STEM Ambassadors are undergraduate and graduate STEM students that conduct hands-on activities with North Dakota students, families, and communities.
Please complete this form if you would like to have a STEM Ambassador chat with your K-12 classroom. The goal of these visits is to encourage communication and cultivate curiosity in the fields of STEM.
Note:
- Teachers must submit at least 7 questions for the STEM Ambassadors to answer and discuss during their visit, we want our STEM Ambassadors to be prepared for classroom conversation.
- Having our STEM Ambassador conduct a hands-on STEM activity is an option.
- All visits are dependent on STEM Ambassador availability.
If you have a vision for how you want a STEM Ambassador visit to happen, let us know!
NDSGC will contact you, after your submission, to set a time and date for the visit. Please allow up to 3 weeks for all arrangements to be made.
Would your student or class like to have a STEM pen pal?
The North Dakota Space Grant Consortium STEM Pal program allows students to submit a letter to a STEM Ambassador. The goal of STEM Pals is to encourage communication and cultivate curiosity in the fields of STEM. "Letters" can be in the form of a paper letter, an email, a voice memo, or a hand-drawn picture. Students can ask a STEM Ambassador any questions they may have about Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or college life as a STEM student.
